The Queen’s Custard is one of our favourite desserts. This simple looking tart takes 5 hours to make. Two hours of baking and 3 hours to fully set. It is silky, jiggly, smooth and just the right hint of nutmeg on the palate.

This custard tart I learned how to make when I was working at Marcus Wareing. I was fortunate to work with the pastry chef you made the recipe for Marcus when he was on “The Great British Menu” back in 2006 and had served it to the Queen for her 8oth birthday banquet.

Room temperature tart is always better to eat and it is best consumed within 2 days.
